Preparation for Sand Clearance From the Gastrointestinal System of Horses

Preparation for removing sand from the digestive system of horses. The main ingredient of the mixture is psyllium husk, which, due to its high content of dietary fibre and gelling properties, strongly binds sand, facilitating its removal by improving intestinal peristalsis. Additionally, the arabinoxylans present in the husk provide protective effects on the gastric mucosa. A carefully selected combination of herbs enhances digestion, reduces flatulence, and has a strengthening effect. The preparation is enriched with natural yeast-derived prebiotics.

INGREDIENTS

feed materials: Psyllium husk, plant processing products (ground flaxseed, ground chamomile), ground caraway seeds, herbal processing products (echinacea, spices and herbs (garlic), yeast products, lignocellulose, palm seed oil, refined and fractionated, glycerin.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CORRECT USE

Horses: 50 g/animal (2 included measuring cups) of the supplement daily mixed with feed for 7 consecutive days. This should be followed by a three-week break. Repeat application as needed, after consulting a veterinarian. In cases of severe sand accumulation and colic: 100 g/animal (4 included measuring cups) of the supplement daily mixed with feed for 3 consecutive days, followed by a return to the standard dose. Before administration, mix with water. Animals must have free access to fresh water.

Psyllium

Psyllium husk is used in horses as a sand clearance aid for the intestines. It is an additional source of fibre in the horse’s diet. When exposed to water, psyllium husks swell in the horse’s gastrointestinal system and form a gel. Sand is removed along with the gel from the horse’s gastrointestinal tract. Psyllium seeds stimulate the horse’s intestinal activity and have soothing and protective effects. Recommended for horses prone to colic and as a preventive measure in autumn and spring

Common caraway

It stimulates the functions of the gastrointestinal tract, aids digestion and has a strong antispasmodic effect on smooth muscles, preventing flatulence. It promotes the secretion of saliva and digestive juices (gastric and intestinal). It helps with digestive disorders and painful spasms.

Chamomile

Chamomile has soothing, anti-inflammatory, carminative, antispasmodic, antiseptic and antiallergic properties.

MOS

Mannanoligosaccharides are found in the cell wall of Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast. They are effective and well-researched prebiotics for horses. When the acidity of the horse’s intestines is too high, they help restore the appropriate pH for healthy microflora, ensuring it is not too low. They can limit the production of volatile fatty acids used as an energy source by pathogenic bacteria. MOS has a beneficial effect on the immune system

Ribwort plantain

Ribwort plantain is an herbal support for the respiratory and digestive systems. Contains: iridoids, large amounts of mucilaginous substances, tannins. Beneficial for animals with respiratory problems, it has an expectorant effect and acts as a smooth muscle relaxant in the upper respiratory tract; mucilages and tannins soothe irritations and inflammation. Antiinflammatory and soothing effects apply to both the mucous membranes of the respiratory and digestive systems, the herb is indicated for coughing, allergic and ulcerated horses

Marshmallow

Used in conditions affecting the upper respiratory tract, such as bronchitis and throat inflammation accompanied by cough. It is recommended to take it in cases of inflammation of the upper respiratory tract and in irritations of the mucous membranes of the oral cavity and throat.
